#BEACTIVE DAY Inclusion guide: How to better engage with women and girls

The 2022 #BEACTIVE DAY project is delighted to unveil the #BEACTIVE DAY Inclusion guide: How to better engage with women and girls, which seeks to act as a hands-on guide for fitness and physical activity clubs and centres. Stemming from the status quo that women are consistently less physically active than their male counterparts- and that even in countries where women and men share similar activity levels, teenage girls’ activity levels are lower than those of boys- the Inclusion Guide intends to raise awareness about physical activity’s gender gap, to spark inspiration and to support initiatives.

The guide offers an overview of how gender affects physical activity levels and why, a roadmap to more accessible and inclusive physical activities, followed by a step-by-step guide to create a campaign, and some good practice examples. The guide is available in English, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Czech, Italian, Macedonian, Dutch, Slovenian and Ukrainian.

The 2022 #BEACTIVE DAY project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union whose consortium contributed to the final document under the leadership of NL Actief and TAKT.

The third campaign workshop was successfully held by EuropeActive on 8 September, with 19 attending national associations. The meeting notably revealed the #BEACTIVE DAY GIVEAWAY which is taking place on Instagram and Facebook and is open to all.
